How we got our name

The story behind our name …

The collective was founded in 2023 by graduates of Falmouth University’s MA Photography programme. Each cohort is traditionally named after an area of sea from the shipping forecast, a nod to Falmouth’s maritime heritage and Mark Power’s well-known photobook. Our group was named Biscay. Before long, we began affectionately calling ourselves ‘the Biscuits’. The nickname stuck, and from that, Biscuit Books was born. It is a name that honours the collective while leaving space for the personal.

Got a question or an idea? Or want to say hello? We’d love to hear from you. Whether we’ve met at a book fair, an event, or you’re finding us for the first time, we’d love to keep the conversation going.

You agree to receive email communication from us by submitting this form and understand that your contact information will be stored with us.
